Adsorption kinetics of direct violet-47 (dye) on activated carbon obtained from low-cost agricultural waste
Batch sorption studies were performed with coconut shell. The amount of sorption
exhibited a gradual decreasing trend with increase in pH from 2 to 12. The rate of
sorption increases with increase in dose of activated coconut shell with an initial
concentration of 250 mg/L. The kinetics of sorption process follows first order rate
expression of Lagergren equation.
